Sentinel Sample Clauses
The "Sentinel" clause designates a specific individual or entity responsible for monitoring compliance with certain terms or conditions within an agreement. In practice, this clause may require the Sentinel to oversee activities such as data handling, safety protocols, or regulatory adherence, and to report any breaches or issues to the relevant parties. Its core function is to ensure ongoing oversight and accountability, thereby reducing the risk of non-compliance and providing a clear mechanism for identifying and addressing potential problems.
Sentinel. 1 senses the ground, but backscatter from the non-flooded surface is in general so low as to be indistinguishable from backscatter from smooth open water. Here we encounter water-look-alikes due to a Low Backscatter signature of the ground.
Sentinel. 3 instruments (a) OLCI8 and (b) SLSTR9 mean revisit time with a two-satellite configuration. Sentinel-4 and Sentinel-5 are not yet operational. Sentinel-5 (carried on EUMETSAT's Metop Second Generation satellite MetOp-SG A to be launched in 2021) will provide data for atmospheric composition monitoring from polar orbit whereas Sentinel-4 will provide similar data but on a geostationary orbit (carried on EUMETSAT's Meteosat Third Generation Sounder MTG-S satellite to be launched in late 2022). Geostationary Sentinel-4 will cover Europe, parts of North Africa, and parts of the Atlantic from 30°N to 65°N in latitude and 30°W to 45°E in longitude10 therefore its use over the Arctic will be limited. Sentinel-5 provides a wide swath of about 2670km on earth and thus almost globally allows for daily coverage of the earth surface11. The Sentinel-5 mission will be to perform atmospheric measurements, with high spatiotemporal resolution, relating to air quality, climate forcing, ozone and UV radiation (key atmospheric constituents such as ozone, nitrogen dioxide, sulphur dioxide, carbon monoxide, methane, formaldehyde, and aerosol properties) and providing a daily global coverage. 8 Source: ▇▇▇▇▇://▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇.▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇.▇▇/web/sentinel/user-guides/sentinel-3-olci/coverage 9 Source: ▇▇▇▇▇://▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇.▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇.▇▇/web/sentinel/user-guides/sentinel-3-slstr/coverage 10 Source: ▇▇▇▇▇://▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇.▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇.▇▇/web/sentinel/missions/Sentinel-4/satellite-description/geographical- coverage 11 Source: ▇▇▇▇▇://▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇.▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇.▇▇/web/sentinel/missions/sentinel-5/satellite-description/geographical- coverage Sentinel-5 Precursor (otherwise known as the Sentinel-5P) is the forerunner to the Sentinel-5 satellite and was launched in 2017 (first products available in 2018). The main objective of the Sentinel-5P is to measure the trace gases and aerosols in the troposphere that affect air quality and the climate12. It bridges the gap between Envisat (Sciamachy data in particular) and Sentinel-5. The satellite payload on-board Sentinel-5P is TROPOMI (Tropospheric Monitoring Instrument) with a global coverage every day (and more frequently in the Arctic). It can map ozone, formaldehyde, methane, NO2, SO2, CO and aerosols. Sentinel-6 involves two satellites: Sentinel-6A ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇, launched in November 2020 and Sentinel-6B set to launch in 2025. Its primary mission is to provide high-precision information on the global sea surface height primarily for operational oceanography ...
Sentinel. (i) The CAT Sat Wales Sentinel service is a business continuity solution or failover broadband solution. Sentinel provides an ‘always on’ background service with ‘up to’ download & upload speeds of 10 Mbps and 4 Mbps respectively. The always on access allows for timely booking of the uncontended Sentinel service (bookable up to 10 x 6 Mbps), which can be initiated within 15 minutes of booking via the CAT Sat Wales Client Portal Sentinel page. Rates for the uncontended Sentinel service are available at all times via the Client Portal Sentinel page. Please note that the ‘always on’ service is chargeable per GB. SSW Ltd will send an automated email alerting your nominated contact that the initial 1 GB threshold is being approached and an additional email alert if 1 GB is surpassed. It is the client’s responsibility to ensure that they are in full control of systems and applications that may be routed over the Sentinel ‘always on’ service.
(ii) Sentinel provides a standalone business continuity solution. You acknowledge that it is your responsibility to ensure any connections to your own systems beyond the satellite modem are your sole responsibility and that CATalyst Systems North Wales Ltd. accepts no liability for any faults or loss of service due to any events outside their control.
Sentinel. 1 projected local incidence angle data The projected local incidence angle (PLIA) is the angle between the surface normal and the looking direction of the satellite (local incidence angle - LIA) which is further projected into the range plane. It provides essential information about the observation geometry of the satellite and varies across different orbits. It can be computed for each individual image within the terrain correction step (section 3.1.1 Sentinel-1 preprocessing), however, within the GFM project we exploit the stable nature of the Sentinel-1 orbit and precompute the mean PLIA values globally for all available orbits. As an input for this computation, we use the individual PLIA images aggregated to mean values from the all available data observed in the year 2020. The mean PLIA values of the corresponding orbit are used together with the σ^0 image and the parameters of the harmonic model as an input of the TUW GFM flood mapping algorithm (see Section 4.1.3 for details).
