SensFloor Clause Samples

The SensFloor clause defines the requirements and specifications related to the installation and use of the SensFloor system, a type of sensor-embedded flooring technology. This clause typically outlines the technical standards the flooring must meet, the responsibilities for installation, and any maintenance or operational protocols that must be followed. For example, it may specify the areas where SensFloor is to be installed, the integration with building management systems, and the procedures for testing functionality. The core practical function of this clause is to ensure that the SensFloor system is properly implemented and maintained, thereby supporting safety, monitoring, or automation objectives within the premises.
SensFloor. SensFloor is a capacitive sensor system that is installed below common flooring. The system can measure locations of persons on the floor and recognise certain emergency situations, e.g. if a person has fallen to the ground. Data is transmitted wirelessly from modules embedded in the floor to a central receiver, where the sensor messages are collected and analysed. Events like general activity in the bathroom or living room, or information about detected falls are then sent to the UNCAP data broker to trigger notifications and alarms informing carers about the need for assistance. For the UNCAP Alpha release, a simulation of the triggering of a Fall Alert (see figure) has been made, in order to test integration with the Data Broker (available at
