Secure Video Paths. The video portion of unencrypted content shall not be present on any user-accessible bus in any analog or unencrypted, compressed form. In the event such unencrypted, uncompressed content is transmitted over a user-accessible bus in digital form, such content shall be either limited to standard definition (720 X 480 or 720 X 576), or made reasonably secure from unauthorized interception. A ‘user-accessible bus’ is a software-controllable data bus that is designed for device upgrades performed by the user or for access to content by the user, such as an implementation of a smartcard interface, PCMCIA, USB or PCI that has standard sockets.
