Section 7.3.3. Second Shift Clause Samples
The "Second Shift" clause defines the rules and conditions under which work may be performed during a second shift, typically outside of standard daytime working hours. It usually specifies the hours that constitute the second shift, any premium pay rates or additional compensation required for employees working these hours, and may outline scheduling or notification requirements for implementing a second shift. This clause ensures that both employers and employees understand the expectations and compensation related to non-standard work hours, helping to prevent disputes and ensure fair labor practices.
Section 7.3.3. Second Shift. 8 The second shift shall consist of eight and one-half (8-1/2) hours, including a thirty (30) minute 9 uninterrupted lunch period as near the middle of the shift as is practical, and also including a 10 fifteen (15) minute first half and a fifteen (15) minute second half rest period, both of which 11 rest periods shall occur as near the middle of each half shift as is practical.
