Section 14.3.1 the District decide to discharge any non-annual employee, the employee shall be so 7 notified in writing prior to the expiration of the school year.
Section 14.3.1. Applications for use of these funds will be accepted four (4) times during the school year 26 through the FastTrack online application system annually in September, November, February, and 27 May. Each application must be signed by the employee’s supervisor and include a breakdown of 28 the costs associated with the request. The employee may utilize this fund for the payment of 29 tuition, travel expenses, substitute expenses and materials required for such attendance. The 30 Superintendent and MESP President, or their designee’s, will meet to review the applications and 31 award funds as applicable.
Section 14.3.1. First Step.
Section 14.3.1. 14 The parties recognize that an employee should have the option of declining to participate as a 15 member in the Association, yet contribute financially to activities of the Association in 16 representing such employee as a member of the collective bargaining unit. Therefore, as an 17 alternative to, and in lieu of, the membership requirements of the previous sections in this 18 Article, an employee who declines membership in the Association shall pay to the Association 19 each month a service charge as a contribution toward the administration of the Agreement in an 20 amount equal to the status they are claiming, agency fee payer or objector. This service charge 21 shall be collected by the Association in the same manner as monthly dues.
Section 14.3.1. 11 Nothing contained in this agreement shall require Association membership of employees who 12 object to such membership based on bona fide religious tenets or teachings of a church or 13 religious body of which such employee is a member. Such employee shall pay an amount 14 equivalent to regular dues to a non-religious charity or other charitable organization mutually 15 agreed upon by the employee and the Association. If the employee and the Association can not 16 agree on such matter, the Public Employment Relations Commission shall designate the 17 charitable organization.
