Search methods Clause Samples

The 'Search methods' clause defines the procedures and techniques that parties must use to locate information, documents, or evidence relevant to the agreement or a specific process, such as due diligence or discovery. This clause typically outlines acceptable search tools, required search terms, and the scope of sources to be reviewed, ensuring that searches are thorough and consistent. Its core function is to standardize the approach to information retrieval, thereby reducing disputes over the adequacy of searches and promoting transparency between parties.

DOIs or other persistent identifiers are not used for internal data and code, unless it has been published. Inside of the project, local instances of the iRODS system are connected to each other and make it possible to replicate data at all sites and to search for data located at other sites.
Search methods. All available published literature from January 1, 2003 up to January 1, 2016 was systemati- cally searched using the electronic databases of PubMed, PsycINFO, Web of Knowledge, and Em- base. The following search terms (or combina- tions/truncated versions) were used: ‘social cog- nition’, ‘affective information processing’, ‘train- ing’, ‘intervention’, ‘rehabilitation’, and ‘treat- ment’. Additional searches were performed, using the more focussed search terms: ‘autism’, ‘theory of mind’, ‘alexithymia’, ‘brain injury’, or ‘brain damage’. Subsequently, the reference lists of the included studies and relevant review articles were scanned for additional eligible studies.
