Science Cloud Platform. The Science Cloud Platform (SCP) is the software system developed as part of the science cloud case study of ASCENS. The SCP is a platform-as-a-service cloud computing infrastructure which enables users to run applications while each individual node of the cloud is voluntarily provided (i.e., may come and go), data is stored redundantly, and applications are moved according to current load and availability of server resources. As such, the SCP serves as the main technical demonstrator for the science cloud case study of ASCENS.

Science Cloud Platform. The Science Cloud Platform (SCP) is the software system developed as part of the science cloud case study of ASCENS. The SCP This implementation is intended for three purposes: First, it serves as an industry-inspired example of a platform-as-a-service cloud computing infrastructure which enables users to run applications while each individual node of implementation and thus as a testbed for the cloud is voluntarily provided (i.e.languages, may come and go), data is stored redundantlymethods, and applications are moved according to current load and availability of server resourcestools developed within ASCENS. As suchSecond, the SCP serves as implementation itself is highly flexible and allows for different approaches and ideas to be tested by integration into the main technical demonstrator for platform. Third, the science cloud case study of ASCENSis intended as an application platform for end users, the end users again being scientists.
