Common use of Salary Step Movement Clause in Contracts

Salary Step Movement. The District shall pay the employee in accordance with the individual’s appropriate step and grade. Each July 1st, all WWESA members hired prior to July 1, 1997, shall be credited with incremental experience and moved one step on the salary schedule until s/he reaches Step 6 of his/her current grade lane. The WWESA member will remain on Step 6 for five (5) years and then move to Step 10 hourly wage as indicated in Appendix A. On the preceding July 1st of the employee’s ten (10) year anniversary date, s/he will move to Step 10 in his/her current grade lane. For all WWESA members hired after July 1, 1997, the following guidelines will apply: If a WWESA member begins employment before January 1st of a given year, s/he shall be moved one step on the salary schedule the following July 1st. This article is modified for the 2012-2013 school year; the parties agree that members entitled to a step increase will wait until half way through the 2012-2013 school year to receive their increase. For administrative purposes, members will be paid fifty percent (50%) of their incremental step increase for the entire year. At the end of the 2012- 2013 school year, the member will be treated as if s/he received the full 2012-2013 incremental step for placement purposes on the 2013-2014 salary schedule. Those members advancing to longevity steps 12, 15 and 20 will receive the full incremental step increase. This article is modified for the 2013-2014 school year; the parties agree that members entitled to a step increase will wait until half way through the 2012-2013 school year to receive their increase. For administrative purposes, members will be paid fifty percent (50%) of the incremental step increase.
