Roommate Contracts Sample Clauses
Roommate Contracts. During the first two weeks of the semester, first-year students are required to complete a roommate contract with a member of the residence life staff. We highly recommend that returning students complete these contracts, but it is not required. Students with disabilities may request a reasonable accommodation to possess a service or support animal. Students are required to submit official documentation of a disability and the disability-related need for the assistance animal. Each request is evaluated by a committee of designated College officials. Students who are requesting this accommodation should contact the Office of ADA Services to obtain the proper paperwork and approval for animals on campus. Approval must be received before an animal is permitted in the residence halls. For additional information, students can also access the College’s service and support animal policy in the Student Handbook. If an approved animal is violating quiet or courtesy hours, or exhibiting another form of disruptive behavior, every reasonable attempt will be made to find the owner. If no contact can be made with the owner, the animal may be temporarily moved to a holding area. Students will be held accountable for the violation of the ESA Contract and may be required to take the animal home. Tampering with and/or disabling any fire safety equipment (including smoke detectors) will result in a $50 fine from the College, referral for student conduct action, and possible sanctions imposed by the State Fire Marshal’s office.
Roommate Contracts. Residents in non-family housing agree that the dwelling identified on the last page of this Agreement as “Premises” will be occupied by only the number and gender of students assigned by MBTS. MBTS reserves the right to assign a maximum of two occupants per bedroom. Any exceptions must be approved 30 days in advance, in writing, by the Administration by completing the Housing Exception request found on the housing page of the MBTS website. All exception requests must include the policy for which exemption is being requested and an explanation of why the policy places an unique burden on this Resident. It is incumbent on the Resident to follow up with the Housing Office to ensure any requested exception has been approved; if the exception has not been approved, the policy remains incumbent on the Resident.
