Common use of Reverse Engineering Prohibited Clause in Contracts

Reverse Engineering Prohibited. Developer hereby agrees not to directly or indirectly disassemble, decrypt, electronically scan, peel semiconductor components, decompile, or otherwise reverse engineer in any manner or attempt to reverse engineer or derive source code from, all or any portion of the Sony Materials (whether or not all or any portion of the Sony Materials are integrated with the Licensed Developer Software), or permit or encourage any third party to do so. Developer shall not use, modify, reproduce, sublicense, distribute, create derivative works from, or otherwise provide to third parties, the Sony Materials, in whole or in part, other than as expressly permitted by this Agreement. The burden of proof under this Section shall be on Developer, and SCEA reserves the right to require Developer to furnish evidence satisfactory to SCEA that this Section has been complied with.
