Retrieve and replace. As we mentioned earlier in Chapter 7.1.3, we will be able to reduce this activity. By introducing a push strategy on the control of equipment as well as a lean warehouse, we will decrease the number of movements.
Retrieve and replace. This includes all the activities they do while retrieving and replacing equipment that is going to be repaired, or equipment that has been repaired. Equipment must be moved several times; from the container to the washing area and then to the quarantine warehouse if they are not able to do the control at once. From the quarantine warehouse it must be moved to the test areas and then back to the main warehouse or directly to a container. The relocation of equipment is done by use of truck or pallet jack.
