RETIREE PROGRAM. 38.1 A retiring bargaining unit member may remain employed on a full-time or part time basis, providing a transition period for the employee who has retired and allowing the Bureau to retain productive employees whose skills would otherwise be lost in the workplace.
38.2 For purposes of this Article, “retired” is defined by the Oregon Public Employees Retirement System (PERS) and employees in this program are eligible for City-paid benefits only as allowed under the applicable employment codes (PSTATs) and shall not exceed the maximum allowable hours of employment permitted under the applicable employment code (PSTATs), the Charter and the Bureau of Human Resources Administrative Rules of the City of Portland.
RETIREE PROGRAM. The District shall request that the health insurance carrier allow employees legally retiring from McMinnville School District to remain in the group for the purpose of purchasing health insurance at the group rate until the retired employee becomes eligible for federal Medicare coverage (pursuant to ORS 243.303). The cost of such insurance will be paid by the insured.
1. Employees must make an application for coverage for the insurance benefits. The insurance coverage will be effective with the first day of the month following a regular salary payment and coverage will continue through the following September.
2. The District has a Section 125 Plan in which all District employees may participate.
