Common use of Responsible for Taxes Clause in Contracts

Responsible for Taxes. Consultant shall be responsible for all federal and state taxes applicable to compensation and other payments paid to Consultant under this Contract and, unless Consultant is subject to backup withholding, Authorized Purchaser will not withhold from such compensation and payments any amount to cover Consultant’s federal or state tax obligations. Consultant is not eligible for any social security, unemployment insurance, or workers’ compensation benefits from compensation or payments paid to Consultant under this Contract, except as a self-employed individual.
