Research Methods Competencies. A hands-on introduction to scientific research is absolutely essential for the education of Environmental Science majors. Students must learn about the process by which scientific knowledge is acquired while conducting their own research projects. Through both lecture and rigorous laboratory/field experiences, they must acquire the skills that are essential to the successful design and execution of scientific research.
