Research Contingent. Continuing Employment means staff who are employed on a research-only appointment, that is reliant on funds that are external to JCU, that are treated as continuing staff. Clause 52, Redeployment and Redundancy does not apply to Research Contingent Continuing staff members.
Research Contingent. Funded) Employment (RCFE) represents a form of employment status available to fixed-term staff whose employment is funded by contingent funding, and who are to be appointed to their second or subsequent consecutive contract. Research (Contingent-Funded) employment is a means by which the University may recruit and retain staff, bridging the gaps between fixed-term contracts linked to funding arrangements. It is not continuing employment as defined by clause 18.1. It is however a potentially renewable form of fixed-term appointment dependent on funding being available.
