A Research Associate may be appointed to conduct research independently or as a member of a research team. The Research Associate may be hired on a full-time or part-time basis.

Appointments in the Research Associate category require a terminal 33 degree (or its professional equivalent) in a relevant field, but holding a terminal degree 34 does not by itself entitle a bargaining unit faculty member to appointment in the Research 35 Associate category.
