Remuneration in Exchange for Protected Health Information. Brightree may not receive direct or indirect remuneration in exchange for Protected Health Information unless permitted by Client or by the various exceptions contained in the HIPAA Regulations, as may be amended from time to time, or for purposes such as Brightree functions under the Agreement, treatment of the subject Individual, provision of such Individual’s Protected Health Information to him or her, research activities where the price charged reflects only the cost of preparation and transmittal of the data, or public health activities.
