Remediation Reduction. The Remediation Reduction Team, which was formed in 2000-2001, has joint membership from Manatee Community College and the Sarasota and Manatee County School Boards. Previously, the Team completed an analysis of the correlation between the Florida Comprehensive Achievement Test and the College Placement Test (CPT). Students can complete practice tests in Arithmetic, Algebra, English (sentence skills), and Reading. The practice site provides instant feedback and diagnostic information. The feedback system designed to provide information about CPT performance of recent graduates has or will been implemented and successfully executed. Each The Sarasota School Board has received a report that identified student, CPT score, and graduating high school.  Continue the marketing plan to maximize student use of the ▇▇▇▇://▇▇▇▇▇.▇▇▇.  Collaborate with the Sarasota County Workforce Board and Manatee Commuity College to provide increased opportunities for students to earn weighted or dual enrollment credit for higher-level career and technical programs and to develop Career Academies that will lead to industry recognized certifications.
Remediation Reduction. In order to facilitate the transition from secondary to postsecondary education and reduce the need for remediation, a K-16 Articulation Committee is established. The committee will include representatives from Flagler County Schools and Daytona State College. The committee will meet to develop mechanisms and strategies for reducing the incidence of post-secondary remediation in math, reading, and writing for first-time-enrolled recent high school graduates, based upon the findings in the postsecondary readiness-for-college report produced pursuant to s. 1008.37. The committee shall annually analyze and assess the effectiveness of the mechanisms toward meeting the goal of reducing postsecondary remediation needs. Results of the assessment shall be annually presented to participating district school boards and State College Board of Trustees and shall include, but not be limited to:
