Common use of Religious Activities Clause in Contracts

Religious Activities. Subrecipient agrees that funds provided under this agreement shall not be utilized for inherently religious activities prohibited by 24 CFR 570.200(j), such as worship, religious instruction or proselytization. Equal Treatment for Faith-Based Organizations. Prohibits any State or local government receiving funds under any Department program, or any intermediate organization with the same duties as a governmental entity, from discriminating for or against an organization on the basis of the organization's religious character or affiliation. Prohibits religious organizations from engaging in inherently religious activities, such as worship, religious instruction, or proselytization, as part of the programs or services funded with direct financial assistance.
