Recreation Programming (WBS. 13.1 SOW) a) Planning, implementing and making recommendations regarding programming to improve the City’s Recreation and Parks system. b) Developing and recommending to the City Manager or designee short- term, mid-term, and long-term plans for capital improvements and implement said plans as directed. c) Planning, recommending, implementing and coordinating staffing and contract administration for the daily maintenance and use of public parks and recreational facilities. d) Managing and procuring services of subcontractors and temporary personnel to administer recreational programs. e) Managing subcontractors performing maintenance functions such as mowing, fence repair, and ballpark lining. f) Planning, recommending, implementing and coordinating staffing for planning, promoting and supervising of recreational programs and special events. Special events include, but are not limited to, festivals, parades and other programming which is not part of the usual course of business. g) Coordinating with Recreation and Parks staff to ensure dates for events scheduled in connection with facility activities do not conflict with any other City activities. h) Coordinating with the appropriate City Departments for public safety control and cleanup for all recreational activities upon closure of events. i) Administering all contracts with directors of recreational facilities and programs. j) Maintaining and operating an online registration system for City-provided recreational programming and make recommendations for improvement. The online registration system will be provided by the City. k) Advertising the availability of programs and manage the registration of participants. l) Providing to the Finance Director monthly financial reports of revenues and expenditures from facility and program operations. m) Providing limited transportation services for recreational programs or events in City-provided vehicles. n) Coordinating specified aspects of utilization of parks with emergency management procedures of local, state and federal agencies.
