Recognition of Objectives and Principles. The Employer and the Union acknowledge and recognize the following mutual objectives and principles:
A) the enduring interest of the Employer is to protect and enhance the community programs and services for the Tsartlip people and people in the area in accordance with the culture, values, customs and traditions of the Tsartlip people;
B) as an employer, the Employer strives to provide reasonable process and equitable working conditions for its staff that are consistent with the provisions of the highest quality of services for the Tsartlip people and the people in the area; and
C) the authority and provision of community services by the Employer is subject to the authority, restrictions, funding limitations and obligations of the federal government and Indian Act.
Recognition of Objectives and Principles. The Society and the Union acknowledge and recognize the following mutual objectives and principles: The guiding principle for York House School as stated in its Statement of Purpose is that the school exists for the benefit of its students. York House School exists for the benefit of its students. Each girl is encouraged and challenged to pursue personal and academic excellence, to respect and appreciate individual differences and to develop a sense of responsibility to the global community: The motto "Not For Ourselves Alone" not only guides the students, it also provides guidance for staff, the Head and the Board of Governors. In managing and directing the activities of the school, the York House School Board of Governors and administrators strive to further its founding goals and traditions as a Canadian independent school. York House School welcomes and requires parent and alumnae involvement in the life of the school. As an employer, York House School strives to provide reasonable processes and equitable working conditions for its staff that are consistent with the provision of the highest quality of service for its students and as are provided in this agreement. It is the intent that the highest academic standards be maintained through effective and fair evaluation processes and through selection and assignment of teachers. It is recognized that the teachers provide a service to the Society in both curricular and extracurricular activities in a manner established by York House School. This is consistent with the responsibility of professional educators. It is the strong desire that parents, staff, alumnae and friends of York House School work cooperatively together to further the objectives of the school.

(a) The WSA'NEC' Tribal School Board and the WSA'NEC' Tribal School Board teaching staff need to work jointly and collaboratively to deliver educational services in accordance with the Mission, Guiding Principles, Philosophy and Traditional Indian Code of Ethics developed by the WSA'NEC' people.
(b) The goal is to deliver and maintain academic standards and educational services in accordance with the Mission, Guiding Principles, Philosophy and Traditional Indian Ethics developed by the WSA'NEC' peoples.
(c) The Employer promotes and encourages the involvement of all WSA'NEC' School Board staff as part of their professional responsibility as educators to ▇▇▇▇▇▇ effective communication with parents and families via channels such as participation in school and community related events, familiarization with WSA'NEC' culture, parent visits and to work to strengthen the involvement of the WSA'NEC' people in the education of their children during the annual school year as defined in Article 14.1 (Hours of Work).
(d) The Employer welcomes and requires parent involvement in the WSA'NEC' Tribal School Board; and
(e) The Employer strives to provide reasonable processes for its staff that are consistent with the provision of the highest quality of education for its students.

A) The enduring interest of Nisga’a Lisims Government is to protect and enhance the cultural heritage of the Nisga’a Nation in programs and services dealing with health and wellness and the guiding principle for the provision of health care to the Nisga’a people and other residents of the Nass Valley by the Employer and its employees as set out in the Constitution of the Employer which is attached as Schedule “1”. This schedule is included for reference purposes only and does not form part of this Agreement.
i) The Employer, its directors and administrators require a strong mandate to manage and direct the activities of the Employer in order to further its objectives and purpose set out in Schedule “1”attached to this Agreement.
ii) As an employer, the Employer strives to provide reasonable process and equitable working conditions for its nursing staff that are consistent with the provision with the highest quality of health care for the Nisga’a people and others residing in the Nass Valley.
iii) The villages of Gingolx, Lax Galts’ap, Gitwinksihlkw and New Aiyansh, in which the Employer provides health care services, are rural isolated aboriginal communities and it is of vital importance that such services are adequately maintained at all times in these communities.
iv) Nurses employed in the above communities are regarded as role models. It is agreed by the parties that this Agreement is to be interpreted in accordance with these mutual objectives and principles.

(a) The guiding principle for Southpointe Academy is that the Board of Directors, management, faculty, staff, parents, students and alumni work together through mutual respect and partnership to create an environment in which students are cared for and they excel. This guides the work of the Board of Directors, management, faculty and staff in meeting the needs of students. All stakeholders acknowledge that the school exists for the benefit of its students.
(b) Southpointe Academy's core values are: respect, integrity, partnership, passion and performance.
(c) Through the implementation of the core values, Southpointe Academy aims to create an environment in which students achieve a state of happy excellence, in which they love to come to school each day and perform to the best of their ability.
(d) As an employer, Southpointe Academy strives to provide reasonable processes and equitable working conditions for its staff that are consistent with the provision of the highest quality of service for its students and as are provided in this agreement.
(e) It is the intent that the highest standards of conduct and competence be maintained through effective and fair evaluation processes and through the selection and assignment of teachers.
(f) It is recognized that the teachers provide a service to the Society in both curricular and extracurricular activities in a manner established at Southpointe Academy. This is consistent with the responsibility of professional educators.
(g) It is the strong desire of the school's Board of Directors that the board, management, teachers, support staff, parents, alumni and friends of Southpointe Academy work cooperatively together to further the objectives of the school.

(b) The goal is to deliver and maintain academic standards and educational services in accordance with the Mission, Guiding Principles, Philosophy and Traditional Indian Ethics developed by the W’SANEC peoples.
(c) The Employer promotes and encourages the involvement of all LAUWELNEW School staff as part of their professional responsibility as educators to ▇▇▇▇▇▇ effective communication with parents and families via channels such as participation in school and community related events, familiarization with W’SANEC culture, parent visits and to work to strengthen the involvement of the W’SANEC people in the education of their children during the annual school year as defined in Article 14.1.
(d) The Employer welcomes and requires parent involvement in the LAUWELNEW School; and
(e) The Employer strives to provide reasonable processes for its staff that are consistent with the provision of the highest quality of education for its students.
