Reason for initial sampling. Initial sampling by the supplier occurs when one of the followingcharacteristicse is fulfilled and the organization has ordered the initial sampling: • New parts (initial order) • Design change (product change, drawing change to all affected features) • Change of production processes/procedures, test methods • Change of a subcontractor of the supplier • Changes to purchased parts of the supplier/primary materials of the supplier • Relocation of the production site or use of additional production facilities, new or relocated machinery or equipment • Use of alternative constructions or materials • Use of modified tools (transfer, replacement, modernization, etc.), with multiple tools for each nest • Production interruption of more than one year
