In addition to language in Supporting Effective Educator Development (SEED).—Within SEED, the Department is directed to support professional development that helps educators incorporate SEL prac- tices into teaching, and to support pathways into teaching that provide a strong founda- tion in child development and learning, in- cluding skills for implementing SEL ▇▇▇▇▇▇- ▇▇▇▇ in the classroom. Within 90 days of en- actment of this Act, the Department is di- rected to brief the Committees on plans for supporting SEL within SEED. In addition, the Department shall provide notice to the Committees at least seven days before grant- ees are announced. Promise Neighborhoods.—The agreement in- cludes $6,000,000 for additional extension awards for grantees that received extension grants in fiscal year 2018 and have dem- onstrated positive and promising results.
