Purpose of immunity. 1. The privileges and immunities provided for in the present Agreement are not established for the personal benefit of those persons in whose favour they are granted. Their purpose is solely to ensure, in all circumstances, the freedom of action of the Bank and the complete independence of the persons concerned in the carrying-out of their duties with respect to the Bank.
