Proofrolling Sample Clauses

Proofrolling. Exposed area to receive fill, backfill, or embankment shall be proofrolled to detect localized zones of excessively wet, unstable, organic, or low bearing capacity materials as follows: (1) Proofroll within limits of proposed construction of footings, slabs, mats, or pavement and to extent of 10 ft. beyond proposed exterior walls and stated limits, or as otherwise noted. Proofroll with loaded dump truck, loaded pan scraper, 15 ton light class pneumatic tired roller compactor, or equivalent. Ground contact pressure of 80 psi and average speed of 5 miles per hour shall be maintained and continue until extent of soft spots is determined with not less than one pass per unit area of tire. Soft spots shall be overexcavated, backfilled, and compacted with suitable material.
