PROGRAM FOCUS. GSWW Mission Statement: Girl Scouts of Western Washington is committed to building Girl Scouts of courage, confidence, and character who make the world a better place. By participating in the Girl Scout Leadership Experience, Girl Scouts benefit in five key ways as they: • Develop a strong sense of self. Find confidence in themselves and all they’re capable of as they try new things, take on challenges, and learn from mistakes. • Display positive values. Learn to act ethically, lead with honesty, be responsible, and show concern for others. • Seek challenges and learn from setbacks. Take age-appropriate risks, open up to new opportunities and experiences, and embrace failure as an opportunity to learn. • Form healthy relationships. Practice leading with positivity, learn to communicate feelings directly, and resolve conflicts constructively. • Become community problem-solvers. Identify problems in their community and create action plans to solve them.
