Professional Library. The Employer agrees to maintain a central professional library which shall include selected professional reference materials and copies of all textbooks currently in regular use in the District. The Employer shall continue, whenever possible, to make selected professional materials available in each school building.

Professional Library. The Board recognizes the relationship between professional reading and professional development. In recognition of that need, the amount of $1.50 per staff member will be appropriated for the purpose of purchasing professional books, periodicals and materials for the use of the professional staff. The appropriation will be designated on a building level basis and the faculty of each building, under the direction of the Association Representative and the building principal, will develop its own method for requisitioning and circulating of professional materials within its own building according to the particular needs of each building staff. It shall be the responsibility of the building principal, with the advice of the building committee, to designate the location and provide the facilities within the limitations of the budget. This article is not intended to replace funds available to principals from other sources for this purpose. In no case shall any building receive less than $100.00 for the purpose outlined in this section.

Professional Library. The BOARD and the ASSOCIATION mutually recognize the importance of continuous use of adequate teaching reference material in maintaining a high level of professional performance. The BOARD shall provide a professional reference library in the Educational Media Laboratory and include therein all reference books and texts which are requested by the teachers of the district and approved by a three (3) member committee elected by the ASSOCIATION. Request for expending these funds must be received by the BOARD by the end of the first semester. Complete information specifying title, company, address and cost should accompany the request. Professional Library. 15.1 The Board shall continue to support and maintain a professional library located in a convenient place in the Jr./Sr. High School building to be used by the professional staff as a resource center to improve the quality of the teaching program. Requests for books or other professional materials shall be made to and by the school librarian who will order those materials likely to prove most valuable and have the greatest use.
