11 1. Eligibility: All permanent classified employees are eligible to enter the Professional Growth 12 and Educational Program.
13 2. Review Committee: A Professional Growth and Education Review Committee shall be

20 2. Review Committee: A Professional Growth and Education Review Committee shall 21 be established. The composition of this committee shall be as follows;
22 a) Two (2) classified employees selected by CSEA 736 to represent the classes of 23 the bargaining unit.
24 b) Two (2) employees appointed by the Superintendent. The Superintendent will 25 appoint the chair of this committee.
26 c) The duties of the committee shall include:
27 i. Hear and decide requests for professional growth and education decisions 28 and make recommendations to Superintendent for approval or denial. The 29 Superintendent will make the final decision.
30 ii. Recommend additional or revised professional growth and education policy.
31 3. Criteria for Professional Growth and Educational Credit:
32 a) Units must be related to the education field and/or work related.
1 b) Units must be taken outside regular work hours to be eligible for equivalent credit 2 under the Professional Growth and Educational Program. In the event the 3 employee attends a conference, workshop, or program and either pays for college 4 units or receives department credit for that time spent after regular school hours, 5 the Committee will grant college credit or educational credit at the rate of fifteen 6 (15) hours = one (1) unit.
7 c) Units paid for by the employee are acceptable for credit.
8 d) Units paid for by the Office of Education will not be credited to the Professional 9 Growth and Educational Program.
10 e) Employees can earn a maximum of four (4) units in the Professional Growth and 11 Educational Program.
12 f) Current employees holding a degree in any field will qualify for a stipend under 13 the Professional Growth and Educational Program. Positions requiring a degree 14 for employment are not eligible.
15 g) Official transcripts and documentation of hours to be credited to fulfill 16 requirements for Professional Growth and Educational Program increment must 17 be filed in the Human Resources office for approval.
