Prevent Obstructions Clause Samples
The Prevent Obstructions clause requires parties to ensure that no physical or legal barriers interfere with the performance of contractual obligations. In practice, this means that property owners or contractors must keep access routes, work areas, and necessary facilities clear of debris, equipment, or other impediments that could delay or hinder work. By mandating the removal or avoidance of obstructions, this clause helps maintain project timelines and reduces the risk of disputes or additional costs caused by preventable delays.
Prevent Obstructions. At all times take all reasonable precautions not to cause blockage to the drains and pipes in or about the Property and keep gutters gullies and downpipes free of debris. In the event that a blockage is caused as a result of misuse or negligence of the Tenant, his/her family or visitors, the Tenant shall be liable to clear, or arrange the clearance of, the blockage or debris.

At all times take all reasonable precautions not to cause blockage to the drains and pipes in or about the Property and where reasonable keep gutters gullies and downpipes free of debris and as provided at the commencement of the tenancy in accordance with Clause 2.1 below. Where such blockage is caused as a result of misuse or negligence of the Tenant or any invitee of the Tenant, the Tenant shall pay or be liable to pay the reasonable costs associated with the clearance of the obstruction including loss arising from a claim in respect of the Tenant’s breach of obligations under this clause.

Prevent Obstructions. When caused by the Tenant’s waste or as a result of misuse or negligence of the Tenant or any invitee of the Tenant, keep all baths sinks taps lavatories cisterns drains waste and other pipes serving such fixtures at the Property clean open and free from obstruction including keeping gutters gullies and down pipes free of debris, and protect the Landlord from loss arising from any claim in respect of all damage caused as a result of the Tenant being in breach of this clause.

In the event that a blockage is caused as a result of misuse or negligence of the Tenant, his/her family or visitors, the Tenant shall be liable to clear, or arrange the clearance of, the blockage or debris.
3.10.2 Not to put or allow others to put any oil, grease or corrosive substance into the drains, sanitary appliances, basins, baths or sinks at the Premises.
