Press Conference. A press conference was held at the close out event with speakers from USAID Indonesia Mission Director, Xxxxxxx X. Xxxxx, and Vice Governor of East Java, Xxxx Xxxxxx. The event was covered by 61 news outlets, including 27 regional online news outlets, 23 national online news outlets, three government online news outlets, six regional printed news outlets, and two national printed news outlets. The full list of media coverage for the event is included in Annex II of this report. Xx. Xxxxx talked about the support of the U.S. government through USAID, which has helped over 20,000 youth, mostly women and people with disabilities, start their own businesses or increase business profits. By doing so, USAID supported the Government of Indonesia in reaching its 2024 national entrepreneurship target of 3.95 percent of the population, with four percent being new entrepreneurs. To respond the questions regarding the promotion of entrepreneurship for vulnerable people, Xxxx Xxxxxx talked about small entrepreneurs which contributed to local economies by bringing growth and innovation to the communities.
