Preliminary Design. A.3.1. Prepare in a format acceptable to OWNER, all preliminary Contract Documents, including but not limited to all designs, drawings, special conditions, general conditions, supplemental conditions, specifications and bid and Agreement forms, necessary for construction of the Project.
Preliminary Design. The Engineer shall perform the following to complete the preliminary design:
Preliminary Design. The set of engineered, working drawings of the Infrastructure. The design includes project specifications, conduit routing, electrical equipment specifications and calculations, project related Site improvements and construction details
Preliminary Design. The preliminary design phase is intended to identify and evaluate cost effective and practical solutions for the work items identified. The designer will complete its evaluation of alternatives through contacts with local authorities, field investigations, and a practical design approach. The design will take advantage of local knowledge and experience and utilize expertise from recent construction projects to design a cost- effective project. Cost efficiencies will be realized in a lower initial cost and in lower long-term maintenance costs. Activities include:
Preliminary Design. The purpose of preliminary design is to develop more than one option for presentation to the Client for selection of that which is the most appropriate based on technical functionality and economic benefit. The selected option(s) will then be further developed in the detailed design phase. On projects that commence with this design phase, the Service Provider shall, using the findings of the project assessment and investigations or concept design already conducted, identify problem areas, provide comprehensive evidence that their underlying cause is understood and propose appropriate corrective or reparative remedies. These proposals will accompany others for multiple design methodologies that are considered appropriate to the project including identification of their respective technical inputs. All proposals shall be discussed with the Client. At least 3 (three) different methodologies must be proposed not all of which need to include identified remedies. Proposed methodologies should separately deal with elements relating to capacity improvements so that these may be individually developed together with the methodologies so that the Client is presented with an array of design options from which to make decisions for progression to detailed design. The duties to be performed include but are not limited to the following:
Preliminary Design. The Consultant will perform preliminary design services in the preparation of design plans and specifications depicting the proposed grading, drainage, paving, signing, utility relocation, and other features of the project. During preliminary design, the CONSULTANT will review the conceptual design developed in the Downtown Implementation Plan and review lane configuration, traffic flow and intersection geometries with CLIENT. Once the corridor geometrics are approved, the CONSULTANT will then proceed with final design and documentation. The preliminary plans will include but not limited to the following task: Title and General Information Sheets (A Sheets) This task consists of assembling the preliminary title and general information sheets. The preliminary title sheets will include the following: index of sheets, revisions, legend, location map, project number, design traffic data. Preliminary Typical Cross Sections and Details (B Sheets) This task consists of assembling the Typical Cross Sections to be used for the proposed improvements as well as a preliminary determination of the limits that each Typical Section will apply. The typical Cross Sections will include but not be limited to typical sections for the proposed grading, drainage and paving improvements. Preliminary Estimate of Quantities (C Sheets) This task consists of a preliminary determination of the bid items to be included in the project, along with an estimate of quantities for each item. Preliminary Plan and Profiles (D and E Sheets) This task consists of the development of preliminary plan and profile sheets that will show the existing topography along with the proposed improvements based on the survey location centerline. Proposed Right-of-Way and Construction Easement limits based on grading/impact limits lines will be shown. Included will include the necessary CAD work to show the preliminary design features for the proposed improvements. The scale of these sheets will be 1”=20’. Preliminary ROW Sheets (H Sheets) This task consists of a development of the existing ROW through the project and showing preliminary easement needs. The scale of these sheet will be 1”=20’ The consultant shall provide the City a list of properties with easement/right of entry needs that accompany the H Sheets. The easement/right of entry needs will be established with the preliminary design phase to allow City staff time to meet with property owners and obtain the necessary approvals prior to bidding. Preliminary Design. The Signatories and Consulting Parties provided comments on the Preliminary Design (Exhibit 8) during the February 20, 2013 consultation meeting and those comments are documented in the February 20, 2013 meeting notes located on the project website at xxx.xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.xxx. GSA and Xxxxx have taken those comments into consideration and incorporated them into the design to the fullest reasonable extent as shown in Exhibit 8. Based on the comments received, GSA has determined that the Preliminary Design shall have no Adverse Effect on the qualities that qualify the Property for listing in the National Register and no Adverse Effects on any other historic properties.
Preliminary Design. Objective: Prepare a technical memorandum summarizing the conceptual OSHG design criteria, initial equipment selections, and mechanical and electrical facility improvements. Approach: Perform a Limited Condition Assessment: Perform a technical site visit. Review the existing layout and photos of the three (3) OSHG system sites to conceptualize mechanical and electrical design improvements for OSHG system replacement. Identify existing OSHG system components to be demolished or reused. Review chlorination operational records to verify OSHG system sizing. Prior to the site visit the City shall provide the Consultant vendor equipment proposals for the OSHG equipment. The City and the Consultant shall discuss and evaluate proposals during the site visit. Coordinate with DOH: Coordinate with DOH regarding its expectations for documenting the OSHG improvements. It is assumed that a formal Project Report submittal to DOH based on applicable Washington Administrative Code (WAC) requirements is not required. If additional DOH coordination and submittals are required, then a contract amendment will be mutually negotiated at that time for additional services.
