Postdated and Stale Dated Items. You must not date a check later than the date you write it. If you do and the item is presented for payment before this date, the Credit Union may return it unpaid or pay the item, the Credit Union will not be responsible for paying the item before the date stated, and the Credit Union may charge your account as of the date the Credit Union pays the item. You agree not to deposit checks, drafts, or other items before they are properly payable. The Credit Union is under no obligation to you to pay a check or draft drawn on your account which is presented more than six months from the date of issue but may charge your account for payment unless the item is certified or you have placed an effective stop payment order.
