Position Description Review Clause Samples
The Position Description Review clause establishes a process for regularly evaluating and updating an employee's job description to ensure it accurately reflects their current duties and responsibilities. Typically, this involves scheduled reviews—such as annually or upon significant changes in job scope—where both the employer and employee can discuss and agree on any necessary modifications. This clause helps maintain clarity in role expectations, supports fair performance evaluations, and ensures that both parties are aligned on job requirements as organizational needs evolve.
Position Description Review. From and after the Transfer Date, an Appointed Employee shall have any rights to request a review of the evaluation of that employee’s position that exist pursuant to and in accordance with GNWT Terms of Employment.
Position Description Review. 36.1 The University and staff members have a shared interest in ensuring that position descriptions are current, and reflective of the duties undertaken by the staff member.
36.2 Where the duties and responsibilities recorded in a staff member's position description no longer reasonably reflect their current duties, the position description may be updated by the University in consultation with the staff member. This process would ordinarily occur as part of the VU Develop process, or any successor annual performance reviews conducted by the University.
36.3 Where the supervisor disagrees that a staff member must perform a particular task or assume a particular responsibility, that task or responsibility will not be included in the position description, nor form part of the staff members tasks or responsibilities.
36.4 A copy of any updated position description will be provided to the staff member.
36.5 For the avoidance of doubt, nothing in this clause 36 prevents a staff member or Supervisor from applying for reclassification in line with clause 37.
Position Description Review. Position Descriptions cannot provide a definitive list of duties and responsibilities and as such these will vary from time to time. They will be reviewed at least annually involving consultation with the employee.
