Portfolio Position. Portfolio Position" shall mean the sum of the Company's cash and cash equivalents plus its short term and other investments, all as of the Closing Date and all as determined in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles applied on a basis consistent with the accounting principles applied by the Accountants (defined below) in the preparation of the August 31, 1998 audited financial statements of the Company ("GAAP").
