Pilot Service Clause Samples
Pilot Service. If a pilot is placed on an engine to direct the movement of the engineer, such pilot shall be a qualified engineer; this does not apply to movement of light engines.
Pilot Service. Engineers handling detoured trains over routes on which they hold no seniority will be furnished a pilot.
Pilot Service. When available, an Engineer familiar with the territory will be furnished to pilot foreign trains over any part of system. Engineers used as Pilots will be paid the established rate of pay (i.e., either through freight or passenger service) for the class of service performed by the train they pilot. Initial and final terminal delay rules do not apply to Engineer-Pilots. Article 19, Section D(1) provides that Extra Engineers should be called for extra unassigned Engineer-Pilot service.
Pilot Service this will be a period (usually several weeks) in which live traffic of all Call types is passed across the Point of Connection while statistics are gathered from the Switches to ensure satisfactory performance is obtained. (Statistics gathered are likely to be in the form of answer to seize ratios, number of Calls offered, number of Calls lost etc.) Live traffic may be substituted by traffic from a Call simulator where considered appropriate.
