Physical Specifications. Transformers shall be of profile design. High and low voltage compartments shall be completely sealed when doors are closed with no exposed removable parts and with a captive penta head bolt for securing both doors and a recessed pad lockable door handle. The high voltage compartment shall be on the left, separated from the low voltage compartment by the fixed steel barrier. It shall be impossible to open the door of the high voltage compartment without having first opened the door of the low voltage compartment. Transformers shall be designed with provisions for installation on a flat concrete pad. The base of both compartments shall be open to provide maximum accessibility for conduits and/or conductors. Color transformers to be ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ pad mount green. All transformers 500 KVA and larger shall have externally operated no-load high voltage tap changers. Taps to be two 2 1/2% above and two 2 1/2% below normal voltage.
