PERIODSOF LEAVE. (a) The Company may grant a "leave of absence" without pay to a regular employee for a period not in excess of six consecutive months. It may grant an additional "leave of absence" without pay to such employees if personal circumstances and service to the Company warrant the granting thereof or as otherwise required by ap~licable law. Except as provided in Sections 6.6 and 6.8, a "leave of absence" Will not be granted ▇▇▇▇▇,o~~th:I with the last "leave" or "leaves" granted, will exceed twelve consecutive months. (Amended 1-1-09 ) Subject to the provisions of Section 6.1 Company shall at request of Union grant a "leave of absence" without pay to any employee for the purpose of engaging in Union business. Such "leave" shall be for a period or periods not to exceed a total of 72 de consecutive months. An emplo~ee who has returned to work for Company following an absence on "re'ave" for Union business in excess of six months shall not be granted another such "leave" until such employee has worked for a period equivalent to the time of the last continuous absence on "leave" for Union business. (Amended 1-1-094-'l--Q4) An employee who leaves employment with Company, to enter the military service or other service where reemployment rights are protected by law will be granted a 'leave of absence" under the provisions of Sections 6.1 to 6.5

  • Period of Leave An employee shall be granted extended military leave for the initial period of enlistment, service, or tour of duty for a period not to exceed five (5) years. In addition, leave shall be granted for a period up to six (6) months from the date of release from duty if the employee requests such extension.

  • Commencement of Leave Parental leave must commence no later than the first anniversary date of the birth or adoption of the child or of the date on which the child comes into the actual care and custody of the employee. The employee will decide when his or her parental leave is to commence.

  • Length of Leave Paid parental leaves of absence of up to six (6) consecutive weeks shall be granted to eligible state employees who request such leave following the birth or adoption of a child.

  • Duration of Leave An eligible female employee may apply for pregnancy leave, to commence after the 22nd week of pregnancy for a duration of up to 17 weeks. The pregnancy leave of an employee who is not entitled to take parental leave ends on the later of the day that is seventeen weeks after the pregnancy leave began or the day that is six weeks after the birth, still-birth or miscarriage.

  • ▇▇▇▇▇’s leave 22.2.1 In normal circumstances an employee is not entitled to take carer's leave where another person has taken simultaneous leave to care for the same person. 22.2.2 The employee must, if required by the Employer, establish by production of a medical certificate or statutory declaration, the illness of the person concerned and that the illness is such as to require care by another. 22.2.3 The employee must where practicable, give the Employer notice prior to the absence of the intention to take leave, the name of the person requiring care and their relationship to the employee, the reason for taking such leave and the estimated length of absence. If it is not practicable for the employee to give prior notice of absence, the employee must notify the Employer by telephone of such absence at the first opportunity on the day of the absence. 22.2.4 The same considerations in quantum of carer’s leave applicable to part time Employees may be extended to eligible casuals but on an unpaid basis
