Performance improves. The PIP will be removed from the employee’s official performance file after 1 year of improved performance or upon transfer outside the Department, whichever comes first. The employee will be notified by memorandum of the results of his/her PIP; and he/she will receive a formal performance appraisal for the rating period if the formal appraisal was previously postponed in favor of the PIP.
