The Page Setup clause defines the formatting and layout parameters for documents, such as margins, orientation, paper size, and headers or footers. In practice, this clause specifies how each page should appear when printed or displayed, ensuring consistency across all copies of the document. Its core function is to standardize the document's appearance, preventing formatting errors and ensuring that all parties view the document as intended.
Page Setup. To adjust a page setup, select Print | Page setup. This will bring up the Print options window, with the activated Page setup tab. Select a printer from the Printer name drop-down list. To adjust the printer, press the Setup button. You can set the Left, Right, Top and Bottom Margins (in centimeters), as well as the Number of Columns and Space between them, and you even have the option to Draw a line between the columns. To adjust Page header or Page footer, press the corresponding small button with dots. This will bring up the Edit pattern window in which you can type your text and Select font. To insert specific fields, such as Page number, Page count, Year or Time to the page header or footer, right-click on the Pattern line and select the necessary item in the local menu. The three lower commands at the bottom of this menu (Tab, Print if the previous field is not empty and Print if the next field is not empty) let you adjust the layout of these fields. The Tab item in this local menu does the following: the text entered before the first Tab will be aligned to the left; the text entered between the two Tabs will be centered; and the text entered after the second Tab will be aligned to the right. In the Print options window, you can watch the changes in the page header and footer in the upper and lower Pattern lines correspondingly.
