OPENING CLAUSES Clause Samples

Opening clauses serve as the introductory section of a contract, establishing the identities of the parties involved and the date of the agreement. Typically, these clauses specify the full legal names and addresses of each party, and may also include definitions of key terms or references to the type of agreement being entered into. Their core practical function is to clearly identify who is bound by the contract and when the agreement takes effect, thereby preventing confusion or disputes about the parties or the timing of the contract.
