Objectives and Measures. The concept of integrating academic, clinical and industrial know-how through AHSNs has the potential to influence change across the entirety of the healthcare system. Ensuring the delivery priorities of the networks are aligned and focused will be pivotal to deliver the health and wealth benefit at both a local and national level. During the application process and from discussions with the AHSNs during interviews, it has become clear that the primary responsibilities and objectives should focus on the following 4 priorities: Focus on the needs of patients and local populations: support and work in partnership with commissioners and public health bodies to identify and address unmet health and social care needs, whilst promoting health equality and best practice.
