Common use of Nonrepresentational Access Clause in Contracts

Nonrepresentational Access. 5.1.2.1. The Union representative shall obtain prior permission of the designated County representative as to the time and place of the proposed visit. 5.1.2.2. The Union representative shall confine his visits to non-restricted areas of County facilities. (Restricted areas are deemed to be those set aside from casual entrance for health or safety reasons such as lockups, ICU’s and various other direct therapy or treatment facilities, and secure areas such as vaults, chemical or gas storage areas, etc.). In the event of a request by the Union representative to visit employees stationed in such restricted areas, alternate sites for such a meeting shall be provided where reasonably available, the union will be allowed time prior to or subsequent to staff meetings. 5.1.2.3. The occurrence of the visit does not adversely affect or inconvenience an employee who is or is not a member of the Union or the bargaining unit.
