Common use of New Programmes Clause in Contracts

New Programmes. For the purpose of establishing new programmes on an experimental basis, the President may authorize allotments lasting for a period of three (3) years. Should the new programmes prove viable by the 31st of October of the third year of their existence, such allotments shall be made permanent. Should the programme not be viable, such allotments shall be abolished as of the 31st of October of the third year of their existence. Such new programmes shall be deemed to be established at the beginning of the academic year in which they are staffed. However, if the President concludes that two (2) years was insufficient to determine the viability of a new programme, such allotments may be continued to a maximum period of five (5) years from their initial authorization. At the end of four (4) years such allotments shall either be made permanent or shall be abolished. If these allotments are abolished no such new programmes may be initiated for a period of five (5) years. The Union shall be informed of all decisions relating to the duration of such allotments.
