Network Board. The North Wales Critical Care Network Board is drawn from the key stakeholders across the Region. Its remit is to set and approve the work agenda for the Network, identifying priorities for action and allocating Network resources accordingly. Terms of Reference for the Board are included at Appendix B. The Board oversees the activities of the Network, is the body which endorses the work undertaken within the Network and offers advice to partner organisations regarding planning, commissioning and the delivery of critical care services. Each representative will need to have sufficient involvement in critical care seniority to make decisions on behalf of their organisation. In addition, there will be representation from other key providers and patient representation. The Network Board comprises: • Chair: Chief Executive Officer, Flintshire Local Health Board • Executive Director Representative from each provider Trust • Executive Director Representative from each LHB • Health Commission Wales representation • Director: North Wales Regional Commissioning Unit • Clinical Lead (Consultant Intensivist) • Network Manager • Patient/carer representative • Critical Care User e.g. a surgeon • Lead Nurse from each Trust • Ambulance Trust representation • Public health representation • Community Health Council representation Representatives from both the neighbouring Critical Care Networks will be invited to join the Board, as appropriate, to maintain cross border Network links. The Chair, Lead Clinician or Network Manager will represent the Board on the All Wales Critical Care Advisory Group to provide an interface with the All Wales agenda. The role of Network Board members is to function as the executive decision-taking body of the Network. Members (or their delegated representatives) have a responsibility for these collective decisions and their implementation and each representative must have the authority to make commitments (including resources) on behalf of their organisation. The Network Board will meet four times a year and will: • Approve annual plans • Monitor performance • Identify priorities for the coming year, review and agree a report on in year performance.
