In accordance with the Nebraska state election code, The Employee must request the time off to vote prior to Election Day, and the Employer can specify when during the working day the Employee may take the time off. Employees may have up to two paid hours to vote if the Employee does not have two consecutive non-work hours to vote while the polls are open. If an Employee’s work schedule for the day ends and there are two or more hours for which the polls remain open, the Employee is not entitled to paid time off to vote.
