METER SEALS Clause Samples
The 'Meter Seals' clause establishes requirements for the sealing of utility meters to prevent tampering or unauthorized access. Typically, this clause specifies that only authorized personnel may break or replace seals, and outlines procedures for reporting broken or missing seals. Its core function is to protect the integrity of meter readings, thereby ensuring accurate billing and reducing the risk of fraud or theft.
METER SEALS. All meters will be sealed by the Cooperative. Tampering with meters and other facilities of the Cooperative violates this Tariff, and under AS 42.20.030 may result in liability for three times the amount of actual damages sustained and three times the value of the service taken Tampering with a meter or meter wiring will subject the consumer to disconnection of service without notice.
METER SEALS. Seals shall be placed on all meters or meter enclosures by DSO personnel and such seals shall not be broken or disturbed by anyone other than authorized representatives of DSO.
METER SEALS. All meters used to determine the billing under this Tariff shall be appropriately sealed and the seals shall be broken only by GRDA upon occasions when the meters are to be inspected, tested, adjusted, replaced, or reset.
METER SEALS. Seller’s metering equipment shall be sealed, and the seals shall be broken only upon occasions when the meters are to be inspected, tested or adjusted by Seller. Seller shall be the only Party authorized to cause seals to be broken on such meters. The Buyer shall be offered the opportunity to be present upon any occasion when the seals for such meters are to be broken.
