Mechanic. A Mechanic is that employee who has worked in the industry for minimum period of four (4) years and who has successfully passed the prescribed courses as designated by the Local Area Committee and as set out in the Canadian Elevator Industry Educational Program.

Mechanic. The normal work week shall consist of five (5), eight (8) hour days. No eight (8) hour shift shall be spread over a period longer than nine (9) hours, between the hours of 6:00 am to 6:00 pm with a maximum of one (1) hour off for lunch.

Paraprofessional Note: Current 1) negotiations between the parties at the expiration of this Agreement, 2) their separation from service from Xxxxxx Xxxxxxxx Community Schools, or 3) their assignment to another position within the District. During summer recess and on days during the regular school year when student transportation is not scheduled (other than due to inclement weather) Bus Drivers who are dually assigned as Mechanics will be assigned an eight hour shift as a Mechanic, as is applicable, on those days. Bargaining unit members with dual assignments in classifications in this bargaining unit shall have seniority in each classification as of their date of entry into that classification. Persons in the Mechanic classification created as of August 1, 2004 will have a seniority date of their original date of hire as a mechanic and shall also retain seniority as a Bus Driver as designated on the seniority list prepared by the Board on November 1, 2003. All seniority under this Agreement shall be by classification. Seniority may be exercised only in the classification in which it is accumulated. There shall be no seniority among probationary employees. Seniority in classification shall be as of the date of entry into that classification, except for a probationary employee, in which case seniority shall be credited retroactively to the employee's first day of work ...
Mechanic. An Employee who is qualified and regularly engaged in performing all types of automotive and motor vehicle maintenance, including maintenance of tractors and diesel equipment and compressors. Employee shall do mechanical and electrical repairs, tune-ups and adjustments, body and fender work and incidental welding or brazing in connection with the above. Employeemay be required to do all types of automotive service work including dispensing fuel, checking and dispensing oil, greasing, washing, cleaning, polishing, changing and repairing tires. In addition, Employee may be required to do other welding and brazing in connection with all types of electrical and mechanical equipment as well as maintain such equipment. Performs such other bargaining unit work as assigned. METER TECHNICIAN (Amended 2/1/91) An Employee who has served successfully Employee’s apprenticeship for a Meterman. Must have the necessary knowledge to install, test and repair all electrical instruments, meters and metering equipment, current transformers and potential transformers and sufficient working knowledge of electricity to be able by the use of instruments, to determine power, volt amperes, power factor and reactive component in an electric circuit. Performs such other bargaining unit work as assigned.
