t. Fig. 3.1 shows a MEC system where a number of M SDs receive tasks with different computation intensities. The MEC platform equipped with a number of N servers, that is installed in the BS assists the SDs to execute offloaded computation-intensive tasks to facilitate not only faster processing speed in collaboration with the SDs but also help to reduce the battery consumption at SDs. Let the sets M = {1, ..., M}, N = {1, ..., N} and T = {1, ..., T}, respectively, denote the indices of SDs, the indices of MEC servers and the discrete time-slots. The amount of data received by the mth SD at time-slot t is bm in bits. The SDs share a total bandwidth of W Hz using the Frequency Division Multiple Access (FDMA) scheme [82].
