Common use of Measuring gas Clause in Contracts

Measuring gas. The meter measures the volume of gas you use, but we will ▇▇▇▇ you according to the amount of energy in gas you use. {Volume is measured in cubic metres or cubic feet; energy is measured in units.} Because gas is a naturally occurring substance, the amount of energy in a given volume of gas [called the “heating value”] changes from time to time. The network operator measures the heating value of gas at a number of places, and we will use those measurements to calculate the heating value of gas you use. Then, we will use that calculated heating value to convert the meter’s volume reading into an energy value, measured in units.
