The Meal Entitlement clause defines an employee's right to receive meal breaks or meal allowances during their working hours. MEAL ENTITLEMENT. For all employees, wholesome meals shall be supplied by the Employer with no deduction from the employees wages on the following basis: ❑ four (4) hours - one (1) meal ❑ six (6) hours - one (1) meal ❑ eight (8) hours - one (1) meal Where a selection is provided, these selections shall be equal for all employees.

Complimentary beverages shall include coffee, tea and pop for all employees. The cost of the staff menus may be increased by an amount equal to CPI for British Columbia.

(a) When employees are required to work one (1) hour consecutive to, and in addition to, their regularly scheduled work day, the Cooperative will provide such a meal as can be reasonably obtained and if work continues, at not more than five (5) hour intervals thereafter. The provisions of this Section shall not apply to minimum call outs.
(b) Any employee entitled to meals at Cooperative expense as provided for in Section 5(a) shall be allowed time for obtaining and eating such meals as follows:
MEAL ENTITLEMENT. When employees are required to work unscheduled overtime after their regular or scheduled quitting time, exclusive of the lunch period, they shall be furnished a meal or authorized by the supervisor to obtain a meal or the established amount in lieu thereof. For eight (8) hour schedules, the first meal allowance will be at the 10th hour worked. For ten (10)-hour schedules, the first meal allowance will be at the 11th hour worked. For twelve (12)-hour schedules, the first meal allowance will be at the 13th hour worked. Employees will receive additional meals at five (5) hour intervals thereafter. When an employee is informed in advance, but not later than leaving work on the last preceding workday, that they will be working extended hours on the following scheduled workday(s) or they will be working on their scheduled day off, they shall furnish their own meals. If an employee works past these previously scheduled extended work hours, they shall be entitled to a meal as specified above.
